Career Overview

Donald E. Stellato Sr., has over four decades of jury trial experience handling handling personal injury and wrongful death cases of the most significant kind. Upon graduating from the College of Law of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he joined a large and highly respected litigation firm, Williams & Montgomery, Ltd. With hard work and immediate success in the courtroom, he quickly became a partner in just six years. For 16 years, Mr. Stellato practiced law at that firm, gaining vast experience as one of the most prodigious and successful trial lawyers in Illinois.

Thereafter, in 1989, Mr. Stellato embarked on a new venture and founded Stellato & Schwartz, Ltd., a trial firm that at its peak employed 36 attorneys and 60 employees in two offices. During the 28 years of its existence, he was not only the founder and majority shareholder, but also the managing partner and for most of that time, the lead trial lawyer.

With the sale of his firm in 2018, and with an eye towards getting back to basics, it is his mission to return to serving clients with a hands-on approach. Mr. Stellato now seeks to personally represent clients in significant matters of litigation. This is the mission of The Stellato Law Office.
